So I was reading a magazine and came across this artist I've always liked but never knew his name... until now. His name is Mike Thompson and you've probably seen his work someplace and didn't know who he was. So I found some of his work and decided to show it here. This is what happens when Nike and videogames mate. The rockstar games/jordan 24 hybrid is so sick. If this what happens when quality shoes are mixed with videogames then I'm in. Here it is for all you comic book and videogame fans out there...a gym shoe collection for you. Saw this on another site and had to show them to everyone else. Not saying I would rock the DC shoes but I'm feelin' the Nintendo Nike. It's the gamer in me. Either way both styles are interesting. Enjoy. Peace.

art project

Alright I just wanted share with everyone another thing I've been working on. I'm currently in college and recently turned in my final project for my art class and this is what I did. It's a picture of my son Edward using a process called cross-hatching. Didn't take too long but it was different for me to do. hope ya likes. Also, I'm working on a t-shirt for a cause very close to me, I'll be unveiling it here later this week. Til then...Peace.

History Made!!!!!

History has been made with the election of Barack Obama as the first African American to be the 44th President of the United States of America. Mark this on your calendars! Celebrate and understand what it means. This is not just a major step for African Americans, it's also a step for every nationality and gender, in the sense that it means Americans are changing and not being blinded by color anymore. America voted and stated loudly that we wanted a change in our governemnt and in the process we have made...history. Celebrate and know that things are just beginning for this country...we have alot more work to do. Let me know what you think. Peace.

Sneak Peek

Time for the geek in me to show.

The best Manga to arrive on Spike TV is coming back this January 2009. Afro Samurai: Resurrection. Yes!!! I'm so excited about this one. If you have not seen the first one it is available on DVD. One of the things that made this show stand out is the awesome soundtrack by THE RZA to go along with amazing fight scenes. Just to hear real Hip-Hop in anime is just so cool. Why must they try and make every television show a movie. Sheesh. There is a Dragonball movie coming out next year and I'm afraid to see the thing in action. Not everything translates well when it hits the big screen. Check out the trailer.

Time to keep the music evolution going. Check out janelle monae. Different ...but in a good way. Expand your music options people. This woman's style is so sick. Also, all you Detroiter's check out Mark Mixx featuring tha Street Jazz Cartel. Real nice jazz cd by a friend of mine. It's available to buy at all mom and pop music stores. Worth the money.

Inspiration

One of the motivating factors for me to start this clothing line finally was seeing someone I admire for his determination step out on faith and start their line. Philly Freshman started Freshman Clothing Company and it is in my opinion one of the...well one of the freshest clothing lines out there. Some of you might ask why talk about someone elses clothing line...it's real simple. In order to have your own victories you sometimes have to celebrate someone elses. Freshman Clothing is something that has been in the works for awhile now and to see the dream finally take form leaves me hope. So why hate on someone if you want to get there yourself one day? It may sound corny to you, but you'll feel the same way if you decide to start one of your dream projects. Alright here we go. The launch of Big Pencil Designs. For ya'll who don't know...this is a new clothing line out of Detroit. I know, I know not another clothing line, but ...YEAH! Another clothing line. Look, I'm just asking that you sit back have patience and watch this new venture as it goes along. If you like what you see...GREAT, if not tell me why. I want to make this thing work, but I can only do that with feedback. Why the name Big Pencil Designs? The name is something different and it stands out in the multitude of clothing lines out there. This clothing line will hopefully have something for everyone no matter what your personal style or taste. The clothing will be custom t-shirts and apparel with limited design and print runs. I'm still working on the official logo so be on the lookout for that real soon, I got a few ideas rolling around in my head. Alright, it's time to get back to work on designs, but check back regularly for updates and other tidbit. Peace.
